FAQ

  • Do you offer a warranty?
Yes we do. The only warranty, expressed or implied, is a one year guarantee against defects in either workmanship and/or material. Each board carries a one year warranty against manufacturing defects unrelated to poor care and/or maintenance. This warranty does not apply to damage resulting from normal wear and tear, accidents, abuse, neglect, misuse, alterations, unauthorized repair, or exposure to extreme conditions including but not limited to water submerssion or being placed in a dishwasher or microwave. Obligation under this warranty, is limited, at the option of Schlosser Custom Millworks to either repair or replace (or one of equal type and quality if the product is no longer available) the item if determined to be defective. Should the product need to be returned for repair, all packing and shipping costs to return the product will be the responsibility of the customer.
  • How do I wash my Schlosser Slab cutting board?
NEVER submerge your Schlosser Slab in water! Keep your Schlosser Slab clean by simply washing it with warm soapy water immediately after use and drying immediately. Let the board air dry completely before storing. If your board came with rubber feet, simply set it on the feet to dry. The feet provide the space for necessary air movement to prevent warping. If your board does not have feet, simply place it on edge to dry.
  • How do I maintain my Schlosser Slab?
At a minumum of once a month, more frequently if it starts looking dry, apply a coat of food grade mineral oil & let it soak in. Keep applying coats until it no longer soaks into the wood. Food grade mineral oil is available at most pharmacies & is relatively cheap. After applying the mineral oil per the instructions above, wipe up any excess oil & apply a coat of Schlosser Slab Slobber. Let that sit for a minimum of 30 minutes. Then wipe off with a soft cotton cloth.
  • How do I get rid of stains and odors on my Schlosser Slab cutting board?
If your board has any sour or mold-like smell, or you've recently cut some garlic or onion that left some lingering odors, you can sprinkle some kosher salt on the board, slice a lemon in half and rub the salt into the board or stain with the lemon. Let sit for a few minutes before rinsing off.
